What are important things to know?

1) "SPONGE COASTER  " is manufactured from cellulose material. Cellulose material is made from wood and plant pulp and therefore is Eco-Friendly. Wood and plant pulps are natural materials processed yet biodegradable to our landfills when disposed of. Environmental concerns are bigger than ever in these times.

2) Our sponges in their compressed form are ultra lightweight and ultra thin. Even after packaging they can be inserted into a  "Thank You" card, standard envelope or business envelope and mailed for the price of a forever stamp. That is the standard 1st class postage rate. All of our sponges are delivered in a compressed form.

3) The imprint ability is a new full color process which we have developed and is a dye based process.  The print resolution and quality is outstanding considering the characteristics of the material. Our print process does not  seal the printed surface as others do making it less effective as a 2-sided sponge. In addition our print registration is very exacting allowing edge to edge borderless printing. We also offer a " Tone on Tone " imprint which uses no color. This process is a controled laser cut that looks very clean and classy when the sponge is expanded. It is great first or 2nd print option for logos.

When using a logo for the entire shape and area on one side we suggest a 2-sided print to put info and message on the opposite side.

4) When our "SPONGE COASTER  " is used as a coaster first , (such as a party or event ) say under a soda can, beer bottle, water bottle etc. and an overflow occurs or if it is just intentionally dipped in water as soon as the liquid contacts the sponge material it instantly absorbed and swells to an approximate 66% volume to weight ratio. We call it " The Magic Show " because it is fun to watch, has a novelty factor that kids especially love and it is two products in one. A coaster and a sponge.

Why is Shape or Profile so important ?

1) Most manufacturing processes after the material is cut and compressed use die cutting to create shaped profiles. This process creates relatively simple geometric shaped profiles however the smaller in size the less intricate in detail. Die cutting is also expensive and time consuming due to the time required to make a die. If you want to make any change at all and no matter how slight the change may be, even 1/16" requires that another die be made.
In short order you can have a warehouse full of expensive scrap metal dies. Just to see a sample can cost hundreds of dollars. We are capable of providing samples the next day if needed and the customer does not pay for any dies ever. When the entire shape profile is a logo this is a great value option to consider .

A) So say to yourself you understand all this now. Consider this next. Say  you are no longer constrained by any shape profile or relative size to the useful purpose.

B) Weight is not a consideration.

C) Whatever you can imagine and dream up can be imprinted in full color on your shape profile. Or chose a controled laser cut line art for a "Tone on Tone"
imprint.

1) Thinking shape profile first. Signs have a profile shape. They have color and they have a message. A stop sign is an octagon shaped profile. It is red in color. The message is STOP.
